TANA RIVER – MATHOYA RIVER – NAIROBI
Day 1: Nairobi – Tana River
Meet & greet with our representative. Then depart at 08:00 hours for Sagana. On arrival get refreshments and safety briefing - transfer up the river. Tana River is a drop pool river offering you an exciting day of white water rafting. Depending on water levels, the trip usually takes 4 – 5 hours. The adventure starts with a 3km easy class II and III white water rafting. A six km section follows with an hour or so of relaxation as you view the bird life around. The final 7km of river back to the camp site starts with an easy class III waters where paddle commands are gone over again.

It is now the three big rapids (Class IV and V) with names like captains Folly and Sphincter Flexov. Depending on water levels we may be able to “surf” in “fisheye” and then swim the next couple of minor rapids. We reach the campsite about 4 – 5 hours after setting off. Barbecue lunch and plenty of beer and soft drinks. Over night at the banks of River Tana.
Day 2: Tana River – Mathoya River – Nairobi
After breakfast drive for about 45 minutes to the Mathoya River. Raft for about 3 hours going past the best technical grade V white water in Kenya. Later transfer back to Sagana where you could raft the 8km white water section of the Tana River back to camp. Lunch break then depart for Nairobi – arriving late afternoon.
