DAY 01:
Driver / guide for your safari will pick you from your hotel / residence within Kampala from where you will set off for Mt. Elgon. The drive takes you past Mabira Forest, River Nile, tea and sugar cane plantations. Drive via Tiriny road on to Mbale where you will reach in time for lunch at Mbale resort.
After lunch proceed and explore Sipi Falls and the adjoining areas. Dinner and over night stay at Mbale Resort (LD).
DAY 02:
After early breakfast with your guide (s) and packed lunch set off for this one day hike of Mt. Elgon. Your guides will help you determine a trail to hike through.
Dinner and overnight at stay at Mbale Resort (BLD).

DAY 03:
Breakfast and then start the drive back to Kampala. Stop over in Jinja to view the source of river Nile and its environs prior to heading to Kampala (BL).
Mount Elgon is located in the Eastern part of Uganda bordering Kenya to the East. Mt. Elgon (locally referred to as Masaba) is an extinct Volcano with the largest surface area in the world (50 km by 80 km).
Wagagai at 4321 m above sea level is the highest peak on Mt. Elgon. The park contains varied peculiar attractions like giant lobelia, bamboo, craters, caves, gorges, birds, antelope, rock hyrax and wild cats.
The main inhabitants of the area are the Sabiny and Bagisu. They practice circumcision every even year. The best times to trek Mt Elgon are June to August and December to March as these are usually the dry periods.
